A PERSONNEL CHANGE IN THE METSO CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS ORGANIZATION

(Helsinki, Finland, November 24, 2004) – Metso Corporation (NYSE: MX; OMX: MEO) Helena Aatinen, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, has accepted the position of the head of communications in the Finnish Forest Industries Federation as of February 1, 2005, and she will continue in her current position till the end of January 2005. More information about the future corporate communications management will be given in January 2005 at the latest.
