MITRE Names Former CIA Deputy Director Dawn Meyerriecks to Visiting Fellows Program

MITRE named Dawn Meyerriecks, former deputy director of the CIA Directorate of Science and Technology (S&T), as a senior visiting fellow. She brings experience leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve national security objectives and joins a cohort of the nation’s leading experts in defense, health, and emerging technology to shape whole-of-nation solutions to our toughest challenges.

Prior to leading the CIA’s S&T work, Meyerriecks served as deputy director of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence for Acquisition, Technology, and Facilities. Meyerriecks is a two-time recipient of the Presidential Rank Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the federal career civil service.

“Dawn’s vast experience in technology and government leadership will be a tremendous asset to MITRE and our S&T work supporting and collaborating with the federal government, industry, and academia,” said Charles Clancy, senior vice president, general manager of MITRE Labs, and chief futurist. “Her work and breadth of knowledge in harnessing technology for national security will enhance work across the company and contribute to our mission of solving problems for a safer world.”

MITRE’s Visiting Fellows program engages external leaders in strategic focus areas, including national defense, cybersecurity, and health. Visiting fellows contribute to research and innovation programs, and many advise MITRE on healthcare, supply chain, cybersecurity, and more.

In addition to Meyerriecks, MITRE visiting fellows include: Ashton B. Carter, distinguished visiting fellow and former U.S. secretary of defense; Lt. Gen. Steven Boutelle (Ret.), senior visiting fellow and former CIO, U.S. Army; Michael Chernew, senior visiting fellow and director, Healthcare Markets and Regulation Laboratory, Harvard Medical School; Dr. Robert Darnell, senior visiting fellow, professor of cancer biology, Rockefeller University, and founder, New York Genome Center; Richard H. Ledgett Jr., senior visiting fellow and former deputy director, NSA; Dr. Mark McClellan, senior visiting fellow and director, Duke Margolis Center for Health Policy; Daniela Rus, senior visiting fellow and director, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, MIT; Nadia Schadlow, senior visiting fellow and former deputy national security advisor for strategy, assistant to the president; Robert Work, senior visiting fellow and former deputy secretary of defense.
