OSM Worldwide Announces No Holiday Peak Surcharges on Package Deliveries in 2023

OSM Worldwide differentiates from competitors by not levying demand surcharges for package deliveries this holiday season

OSM Worldwide, the fifth-largest nationwide parcel shipper for eCommerce and direct-to-consumer (DTC) packages, today announced that it would not levy peak season surcharges on any package deliveries throughout this year’s holiday season.

“The holiday season is the most important time for many of our customers’ bottom-line. We are proud that we can avoid additional charges on their shipments so they have a more profitable quarter,” said Gaston Curk, CEO of OSM Worldwide. “Customer focus is a core value of OSM Worldwide and providing consistent pricing is crucial in helping their business succeed. Key investments in automation and growing our staff of dedicated employees allows us to provide high-quality service, even during peak surges in volume.”

Since 2018, OSM Worldwide has increased revenue by more than 510% through strong net new customer and overall volume growth. Over that same stretch, the company has expanded to five state-of-the-art facilities in the U.S., tripled its workforce, strategically added automation, and lowered the total cost per package.

During the holiday season in 2022, OSM Worldwide saw a YoY growth of 9.4%. On average, it took just 3.5 days to deliver a package or parcel to its intended destination. The company has the ability to deliver to every address in the U.S. six days a week via its partnership with the USPS, while providing a more seamless shipping process for customers.

“We pride ourselves on our exceptional service and we are prepared to go above and beyond again this holiday season,” said Curk. “Our goal is to help our customers differentiate themselves through the package delivery process – both from an experience and cost standpoint. OSM already offers some of the lowest delivery pricing in the industry and, with no holiday surcharges, further emphasizes why we are a preferred shipping partner to many.”

Key Investments Ahead of 2023 Peak Season

Specifically, key investments in OSM Worldwide’s workforce and package processing operations ahead of the 2023 peak holiday season include:

  • Increasing Seasonal Employees by 30%: Through automation, net new permanent hires and moving a segment of temporary employees to permanent status over the past year, OSM Worldwide has significantly increased its capacity to handle growth and shipping surges.
  • Utilizing New Package Sorting Machines: OSM Worldwide has invested in several new sorting machines in 2023, which enable facility staff to sort and process packages with greater speed and reliability.
  • Daily Processing Capacity Increases More Than 50%: As a result of strategic operational improvements, OSM Worldwide has more than doubled its processing capacity since 2020.
