Cboe Canada Inc. (“Cboe Canada”) is proud to announce that Guardian Capital LP (“Guardian Capital”) is back for a launch of two new ETFs. The Guardian i3 International Quality Growth Fund and the Guardian Strategic Income Fund are now listed and trading on Cboe Canada under the symbols GIQI and GSIF, respectively.
“In today’s economic climate, changes in interest rates have become a persistent concern for Canadian investors, so the Guardian Strategic Income Fund is a timely new ETF offering. And the Guardian i3 International Quality Growth Fund brings further choice to those looking to mitigate home bias and gain access to international markets,” added Rob Marrocco, Global Head of ETF Listings at Cboe Global Markets. “We are excited to continue developing our partnership with Guardian on future launches, empowering investors with solutions to navigate any market conditions.”
Guardian i3 International Quality Growth Fund (GIQI) – aims to offer long-term capital appreciation by investing in equity securities listed outside of North America. The fund’s holdings are broadly diversified by issuer, sector and geography, with a bias towards mid-large capitalization stocks.
“Guardian Capital’s i3 Investments team has been at the forefront in using new technology, which includes the increasing use of artificial intelligence, to improve security selection,” said Barry Gordon, Managing Director, Head of Retail Asset Management, Guardian Capital LP. “Many Canadian advisors and investors are probably well aware of how successful this team has been in managing global equity portfolios, but we have seen similar performance profiles in both International and U.S. equity selection. We are excited to offer increased access to this strategy in ETF format.”
Guardian Strategic Income Fund (GSIF) – seeks to generate capital gains and make monthly distributions by investing primarily in North American fixed income securities that can benefit from changes in interest rates and credit spreads. The fund aims to maintain low volatility and low correlation with traditional equity and fixed income markets.
“Our fixed income team continues to deliver strong results for clients, particularly with increasing complexity in the market, and we believe our Strategic Income Fund may provide investors with an uncorrelated source of returns within their portfolios,” said Mr. Gordon. “This mandate underscores the importance of having access to alternative solutions in Fixed Income. The team generally uses the alternative investment fund structure to reduce volatility and risk, which helped them deliver strong relative returns during the recent periods of fixed income volatility.”
Units of both new ETFs are now available for trading on Cboe Canada, along with five other Guardian Capital ETFs. Investors can trade units of all Guardian Capital ETFs through their usual investment channels, including discount brokerage platforms and full-service dealers.
