PICPA Celebrates Pennsylvania CPA Week, Honoring the Great Work of Accounting Professionals in the Commonwealth

Annual week of recognition celebrates the critical role CPAs play in advancing Pennsylvania’s economy, financial trust, and community well-being

Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) is proud to recognize Pennsylvania CPA Week, November 17–21, 2025, as designated by the Pennsylvania General Assembly. This annual observance honors Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) across the Commonwealth for their leadership in driving financial transparency, supporting business growth, and strengthening communities through their integrity and expertise.

“CPAs play a critical, but often overlooked, foundation of financial leadership and trust across Pennsylvania’s economy,” said Jennifer Cryder, CPA, MBA, CEO of the PICPA. “They help businesses and individuals make informed financial decisions, serving as trusted advisors who uphold the public interest and set the standard for integrity in every corner of our economy. We’re thrilled to honor CPAs across the State during this important week of recognition.”

House Resolution 347, introduced by Rep. Benjamin Sanchez (D–Montgomery) and Rep. Keith Greiner, CPA (R–Lancaster), received bipartisan support in recognition of the essential services CPAs provide to taxpayers, businesses, and government entities throughout Pennsylvania.

“As a former CPA, I know firsthand the dedication, integrity, and expertise that certified public accountants bring to their work every day. CPAs play a critical role in strengthening Pennsylvania’s economy — helping families, small businesses, and communities make sound financial decisions and plan for the future. CPA Week is an opportunity to recognize these professionals for their commitment to transparency, accountability, and service to the public,” remarked Rep. Ben Sanchez.

"Our businesses serve as the key to economic success in the Commonwealth, and many stakeholders, including banks and investors, rely on sound financial reports provided by CPAs. Many others also rely on CPAs for accurate tax advice. This resolution recognizes the trust, respect, and importance our profession plays in society,” said Rep. Keith J. Greiner, CPA.

“CPA Week is about celebrating a profession that adamantly, yet often quietly keeps Pennsylvania’s economy strong,” said Peter Calcara, PICPA Vice President of Government Relations. “Whether guiding businesses, advising state leaders, or educating the next generation, CPAs are in many ways Pennsylvania’s embodiment of public service. Their impact is seen every day in the trust they build and the confidence they bring to every financial decision.”

Throughout CPA Week, members are encouraged to share their stories on social media using the hashtag #PACPAWeek to amplify the collective voice of the profession.
