Hart Florist & Flower Delivery's roots trace back to the home of Al Hart on Hackberry Ave, where it shared space with a taxi and ambulance service. The business blossomed under Al Hart and Howard Downing, eventually moving to the old Stanislaus Title Building and later the Seeley Building. Following Al Hart's passing in 1950, the Downings purchased the store in 1954. Despite a devastating fire in 1956, the business persevered, thanks to the support of fellow florist Louie Hammer.
In 1971, Hart Florist & Flower Delivery moved to 1139 McHenry Ave., innovatively incorporating a drive-in window. In 2000, they expanded across the street to their current location, doubling their showroom and design space.
