Intermountain Cassia Regional Hospital and its pediatric rehab team kicked-off the 2nd annual Spudman Tater Tot Trot on Friday with hundreds of children of all physical abilities running, walking, or rolling on a wheelchair-accessible course along the Snake River.

The Intermountain Spudman Tater Tot Trot is an inclusive community event that allows kids to take part in the Spudman festivities, the area’s largest athletic event of the year.

The goal of the Intermountain Tater Tot Trot is to inspire kids to get outside, be active, and to have fun. The one-mile out-and-back race along the Burley Golf Course in Idaho was open to children 12 years old and under and children of all abilities.

“We wanted to start this event with the Spudman to give kids of all abilities the opportunity to participate in athletics and community events,” said Kaity Kobayashi, DPT, PCS at Intermountain Cassia Regional Hospital. “We are proud of the Spudman and want kids to feel proud of participating and accomplishing the race.”

Dozens of buddy volunteers were also available to accompany kids, if needed, so that everyone could participate.
