Next Up Championship Finals: Coeds from Rutgers Face-Off Against Coeds from UConn on May 27 ESPNU 7 p.m.
PRLog - May 23, 2014 - NEW YORK -- Led by Senior Will Dean from Garrison, New York and Freshman Jaclyn Paride from Stonington, Connecticut, students from the University of Connecticut defeated their rivals from Syracuse University, 95 to 15.
The Syracuse team led by Kelly Sheptock, freshman from Berwick, Pennsylvania and Kevin Mata, senior from Bronx, New York, jumped out to a 15 to 0 lead winning the first three matches, but UConn Senior Darcy Rose, from Chaplin, Connecticut snapped the Syracuse streak securing the first 5 points for her team, “The Connecticut Wrecking Crew” with a victory over Kelly Sheptock. In the subsequent matches the students from UConn: Will Dean, Jaclyn Paride, Darcy Rose and Brandon Cerretani, junior from Howell, New Jersey shut out the students from SU winning all of their remaining matches.
The College Arm Wrestling League Championship will be determined in an hour-long special on Tuesday, May 27 on ESPNU at 7 p.m. ET when students from Rutgers face-off against students from UConn in the finals.
Calling the action for the College Arm Wrestling League Championship are veteran ESPN announcers, Noah Coslov and Tara Petrolino who are joined by co-host “IMPACT WRESTLING” superstar and five-time CBS “Big Brother” star, Jessie Godderz, known to his fans as Mr. PEC-Tacular, interviewing student arm wrestlers on the sidelines following matches. Four-time World Arm Wrestling Champion for Team U.S.A. and well-respected Arm Wrestling Referee, Jim Bryan controls the action at the arm wrestling table for the College Arm Wrestling Championship with his signature “grip it and rip it” signaling the start of each match.
