The Sustainability Leader Credits Dallas Company for Achievement
GARLAND, Texas - March 4, 2016 - PRLog -- Weathermatic announced today that the world’s largest commercial real estate and investment firm, CBRE, has achieved 1 Billion Gallons of water savings through water conservation programs. Weathermatic’s role in the company’s success was made clear by CBRE leadership:

"As CBRE works to add value to our energy and sustainability offering through water conservation programs, I want to recognize the important role Weathermatic technology and services play in achieving client objectives. Our recent announcement of one billion gallons saved through pilot programs with Weathermatic is an example of the magnitude of savings we are able to achieve,” stated Peter Scarpelli, Managing Director and Global Director, Energy & Sustainability, CBRE.

CBRE Group, Inc. has saved its Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) clients over one billion gallons of water over the past 18 months through a recent pilot program with Weathermatic. CBRE, GWS Global Energy & Sustainability group, and Weathermatic Sustainability Services worked together with a targeted group of eight clients across 381 sites to achieve cost savings through irrigation water conservation. Under the pilot program, clients achieved an average of 38 percent savings on annual water costs, resulting in more than $5 million in total savings. The company plans to expand the pilot program in 2016.

“We continue to seek ways to enhance our already robust energy management services and are now equally focused on water conservation as our clients are understanding the growing impact water conservation plays in meeting their sustainability and financial goals,” Scarpelli said. Brodie Bruner, Executive Vice President of Weathermatic’s Sustainability Services noted that CBRE’s focus on irrigation-related sustainability is setting a global standard. “Water has clearly reached a tipping point in terms of its priority relative to energy. What we are seeing through our clients like CBRE represents a seismic shift in the world of energy and sustainability to recognize water for its true worth. Water is the fastest growing utility expense and now highly regulated, so commercial properties are looking for the exact water conservation programs and solutions Weathermatic delivers.”

Weathermatic water conservation programs provide operational cost savings and water use reduction, serving as the key component in achieving corporate sustainability objectives for water. In the new environment for water, an even higher-level benefit of the Smart Irrigation Program is risk mitigation. One of the crucial focuses of CBRE’s GWS Global Energy & Sustainability Group is to help clients avoid risk through energy and sustainability solutions. The Weathermatic program uses a customized irrigation conservation program and state-of-the-art smart irrigation technology for each site to mitigate risks of public safety, legal, and reputational risks, as well as landscape loss and physical asset damage.
