Buybacks slow in Q3, but tax reform could change that in 2017

The amount that U.S. companies repurchased of their own stocks slowed for a second straight quarter in the third quarter, with the activity dropping to its lowest level in more than three years, but the pace could reaccelerate in 2017 if expected tax proposals are enacted by the incoming administration.
