The goal of this year's conference is "Managing Fatigue to Improve Safety, Wellness, and Effectiveness." The conference program further states that "Since it first convened in 1993, awareness of fatigue has exploded with sleep and fitness trackers now a billion-dollar consumer market." Despite awareness, fatigue and distraction continue to have deadly consequences on our Nation's public roadways.
The 2017 Fatigue conference brings together transportation officials from government, research institutions, commercial fleets, as well as esteemed drivers. Mr. Bob Stanton, a professional truck driver with sleep apnea representing Dedicated Sleep services, offered tours of his tractor-trailer to demonstrate how he manages sleep apnea while on the road.
