Investigation Discovery Channel November 2016 Everyday Hero Releases New Memoir

By: PRLog
ATLANTA - Jan. 1, 2018 - PRLog -- Domestic Violence Survivor, Crime Victim's Advocate, and new author Kimya Motley will unveil and sign copies of her newly released memoir, "Born of Violence", on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 6-8pm at Brawner Hall Conference Center, located at 3180 Atlanta Rd SE Smyrna, GA 30080.

In 2011, Kimya Motley and her daughter were ambushed at a daycare center by her ex-husband. She was shot multiple times and her then 10-year-old daughter, was shot once in the head. Miraculously, they survived the attack and now she is sharing her story.  Motley's "Born of Violence" leads readers on her journey to understanding the purpose behind pain through her powerful story of survival. Using her life-changing and inspiring experiences of God's love since the incident, Motley chronicles how her faith and the understanding of His love sustained her through her process of healing. "I want this book to show people about God's infinite love towards us and how much he extends his grace and mercy to us even when we don't deserve it", says Motley.  Not only is the book an inspiring account of survival and God's display of love amid tragedy, but it is also a moving call to action to victims of Domestic Violence. Motley hopes the book is a good resource for those going through Domestic Violence, those trying to help someone they love to leave an unhealthy relationship, or for someone just trying to learn more about the subject.

She founded Haven of Light International, Inc. in May 2013.  Haven of Light International is a non-profit designed to help families rebuild spiritually, physically, emotionally, and financially after abuse. In addition to helping families through Haven of Light, Motley is an inspirational speaker for organizations and events in support of fighting domestic violence, teen dating violence, and sex trafficking. She received a commendation from Georgia Governor Nathan Deal in March 2016 for her work as a leading domestic violence advocate. The Investigation Discovery Channel named her their Everyday Hero in November 2016 for the work she does inspiring and making a difference in the lives of others through her dedication to victims' rights and healing.

You can hear her story first hand and get a signed copy of her new book on Saturday January 27, 2018. For more information on the event and to purchase tickets, log on to https://bornofviolence2018.eventbrite.com. For media inquiries please email info@gogirlnow.com.
