Riverwalk District and Reno Philharmonic Partner for a Fulfilling Afternoon

Dine The District Food Tour Returns Sept. 29, 2018, 1-4 p.m.

RENO, Nev. - September 25, 2018 - (Newswire.com)

To kick off the spirit of fall, the merchants of downtown Reno's Riverwalk District, a coalition of small businesses located along the Riverwalk in downtown Reno, have teamed up to organize the "Dine The District" Self-guided Food Tour on Saturday, Sept. 29, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Not only will guests have an opportunity to enjoy entertainment and a variety of culinary delights from the best restaurants in the Reno area, the proceeds will help support the continued development of the Riverwalk District and guests will receive 50 percent off their Reno Philharmonic admission for the same day.

"Everybody benefits from a beautiful and active downtown river district," said Scott Dunseath, Riverwalk Merchants Association past president and owner of Reno eNVy in downtown Reno. "The area hosts special events and concerts and builds memories for members of our community. Continuing to grow a vibrant dining district is yet another step in the right direction," said Britton Griffith, Riverwalk Merchants Association president and V.P. of operations for Reno Engineering.

The Riverwalk Dining District is where foodies come to feast on the many options of culinary excellence located in the heart of Reno, Nevada. The Riverwalk features unique options in dining and entertainment, showcasing selections from around the world. Adding the title of Northern Nevada's new "Dining District" is one more attraction for the community.

The cost is $20 per person pre-sale and $25 day of the event, FREE for children 10 years of age and under. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.renoriver.org or during the day of the event. Tickets sales are limited to 700. Redeem tickets by presenting the receipt at the new Reno Tahoe Visitor Center, located in the Reno eNVy store at 135 North Sierra Street Reno, during the day of the event. Receive a food tour map as formal admission to the self-guided tour during the day of the event.

The first "Dine The District" Self-guided Food Tour hosted by the Riverwalk was held on June 9, 2012, and was an incredible success, with tickets selling out two hours before the event began. With the already very popular monthly Wine Walk, the Dine The District food tours will provide another opportunity for the community to enjoy the area. Food tours participating locations include Wild River Grille, The Jungle, Urban Market, Noble Pie Company, Crafted Palette, Sierra Arts, Liberty Food & Wine, Chez Louie, Reno eNVy, MYNT, Sugar Loves Chocolate, Pignic and Blind Dog Tavern.

"We hope this event will continue to bring awareness, support and generate some additional revenue for the business after such a heavy winter located in downtown Reno," said Britton Griffith. With the Riverwalk quickly growing to be the culinary epic center of the city, the association's goal is to create future quarterly food tours, progressive dining tours and a Riverwalk cookbook for the Reno area.

All the funds raised by the Riverwalk Merchants Association will help establish a safer, cleaner and more vibrant downtown area. To purchase tickets online, visit http://renoriver.org or visit Reno eNVY the day of the event. RENO eNVy: 135 N. Sierra Street, Suite C, Reno NV, 89501 - (775) 682-3800.

In addition to the food tour, the Riverwalk is the home of the ever-popular monthly Wine Walk the third Saturday of every month and the Reno Beer Crawl the fourth Saturday of every month.
