Award winning multimedia artist Rodrigo Silva, creator of the renowned animation franchise Rose Dollz and the artist behind the first Brazilian XBox360 videogame title Trilinea React, announces new cartoon characters based on the Kawaii culture.
ORLANDO, Fla. - Dec. 27, 2018 - PRLog -- Rodrigo Silva is a well known Brazilian multimedia artist with works in animation, graphics design and interactive projects. His animation work has been selected by over 40 festivals around the world, including Annecy International Animated Film Festival, China International Animation and Digital Arts Festival, Tokyo 1minute Film & Video Festival, International Short Animated Film Festival of Rome, The one minute Belgian Open and SIGGRAPH's Eureka for which he was awarded with Best of Show and Artistic Achievement. Silva's work goes beyond animated films, he is also behind the beautiful graphics of TriLinea React for XBOX360 and is the creator behind many cartoon characters including the franchise Rose Dollz.

Naninami is his new brand of cartoon characters inspired by the Kawaii culture. "I've been really interested in Kawaii, I believe mainstream pop culture will complete a cycle that will bring back values which are aligned with the Kawaii culture," says Silva. His brand name is a mixture of the Hawaiian word "Nani" which means "cute" with the Japanese word "Nami" meaning "Wave".  Silva believes his "CuteWave" will conquer the hearts of audiences from 5 to 7 years old.

"It's been an incredible journey to create characters for such a young audience. Specially when compared with Rose Dollz which was focused on pre-teens and Tweens with an important underlying story subject of women empowerment," comments the creator. "With Naninami the message is broader where my goal is to inspire children's curiosity about the world around them. Questions like why we can not see the stars during the day and the process of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly are some of the subjects theses characters will introduce to children," concludes Silva.

Every character in the Naninami universe is based on an animal. "It is also about diversity, each kind of animal has different proportions, body structure and colors, yet they live happily together. I believe the ability to understand our differences and see them as qualities which makes each one of us unique is something that must be celebrated," Silva explains.

The first character created for Naninami was Benny Owl. The adorable purple Owl is strong minded, hard working and very curious. Another 7 characters are going to be revealed in detail soon according to Silva as well as the roadmap for the platforms they will be in. Among those, there are plans for interactive apps, digital books, animations and educational games are some of the products where the audience will experience these characters. "Naninami content will very from pure entertainment to more "serious" edutainment activities.  I am a strong believer in giving back and I have plans on which educational institutions will be able to have access to the educational Naninami content free of charge," said Rodrigo.

Naninami is available for licensing so expect to see more of theses characters pretty soon.
