WESTMONT, Illinois - Mar 21, 2019 - Rasdale Stamp Company hosted a highly successful public stamp auction on February 16 & 17 this year. According to the prices realized in this auction, the company enjoyed a successful sale of all the featured 1,448 lots.

Rasdale's public stamp auction, the first of this year, featured 1,448 lots. All the lots were sold and most of them fetched satisfactory prices.

Dubbed Public Auction #439, the February 16-17, 2019 public stamp sale was held at Rasdale Auction Gallery 37 Chestnut Ave. Westmont, IL 60559. For this auction, Rasdale encouraged collectors to use its dynamic online bidding platform, Rasdale Live Auctions, for more convenient online bidding.  Alternatively, interested collectors could travel to the company's galleries to bid on the floor. According to the "Preliminary Prices Realized" posted on the company website, many lots in the recently concluded Public Auction #439 fetched over a thousand dollars. The highest earning lot featured an eye opening mint and used 19th and 20th century front and back of the book, well populated throughout the 1851-1869 issues, banknotes, early commemoratives, Washington-Franklins, 1920s through the mid-1990s. It fetched $15,500. A fanciful mint and used 19th, 20th century front and back of the book stock from the Gulf side stock housed in over 65 small sales books of U.S. collections, accumulations, and stocks was auctioned for $10,500.  And a smoking hot mint mainly NH accumulation lot in a stock book and sales cards including 19th and 20th regular issues, commemoratives, and back of the book with an agreeable assembly of airmails was sold for $9,000 at the auction. Rasdale will host the next public stamp auction on May 18-19, 2019.
