CHICAGO - April 22, 2019 - (Newswire.com)

Creators of the upcoming CBS TV series, "The Red Line," debut their first feature film, "The View From Tall." The distributor, Cow Lamp Films, shares that is available on Amazon and Flix Premiere.

"After a celebrated international festival run, we are so thrilled to be sharing 'The View From Tall,' with a broader audience. This film was created largely by a team of determined women, and since then, has had people behind and in front of the camera go on to do incredible things," said Amanda Pflieger, producer.

Written by Caitlin Parrish, and co-directed by Erica Weiss and Caitlin Parrish, "The View From Tall" is a comedy-drama that follows a Chicagoland high school senior, Justine, (Amanda Drinkall), who is relentlessly bullied by her classmates. After reluctantly going to therapy in the aftermath of a messy public affair with her English teacher, she forms an unlikely bond with Douglas (Michael Patrick Thornton), her therapist, who uses a wheelchair and nurses demons of his own. Told with a sardonic wit, "The View From Tall" explores self-discovery at more than one age.

Drinkall is a Chicago theater actress who has appeared on the TV shows "One Fine Day!" and "Chicago Med," while Thornton had a recurring role in the ABC-TV series "Private Practice" and the CBS TV series "The Red Line."

VoxMagazine.com wrote that the film "...explores questions of consent and ethics in sexual relationships where there's a significant power differential." The Chicago Reader said of "The View From Tall," "...this Chicago-set love story breaks new ground with the protagonist's self-knowledge and directness."

"The View From Tall" is available to rent and own on Amazon and is streaming on Flix Premiere. Distributed by Cow Lamp Films, the film premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival, and it was an official selection at the Chicago International Film Festival, New York ReelAbilities Film Festival, International Film Festival on Disability in Cannes, France, Citizen Jane, POW Film Festival, Women's Film Festival, PAC Rim Film Festival and the Midwest Independent Film Festival (Winner: Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Feature Film).
