Chem-Dry Announces Water Damage Cleanup In Park City

Chem-Dry has announced that they are now offering water damage cleanup Park City. The Park City, Utah based company provides a wide range of services, including restoration and cleanup services for those who have endured water damage as the result of leaky pipes or other issues in their homes.

Daryl Olsen, a representative for the company says, “In most cases of water damage, we can get the damaged area back to its original condition. We follow standards that are set forth by the IICRC and the RIA for all of our water damage restoration projects.”

The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification is a not for profit organization that certifies companies for cleaning and restoration of water damaged areas. The RIA or Restoration Industry Association is the oldest trade association that represents the restoration industry. Both of these organizations help to set the standards for the water damage restoration industry. Olsen states that Chem-Dry follows all of these regulations.

“There are not currently any government regulations that outline the procedure for water damage restoration,” Olsen adds. “But, we do follow the guidelines that have been set forth by both the RIA and the IICRC for how to properly clean up and restore water damaged areas.”

Olsen says that water damage can be caused by any number of things and when left untreated, can turn into a disastrous situation. Water that has not been properly cleaned up can weaken the structure of a floor, ceiling or wall. It can also promote the growth of unhealthy mold and bacteria and lower the air quality inside the structure. Massive water leaks could actually damage the structure itself. Leaky pipes under the floor for instance could cause damage to the home’s foundation, which could result in thousands of dollars in needed repairs in order to make the foundation stable once again.

Olsen says that all of these issues can be avoided if the homeowner acts quickly. He states that any home that has experienced a leak will need to be inspected. The first thing that the homeowner should do is to locate the source of the leak and if possible, shut down that water source. In the event of a main water line leak, the water source may need to be turned off at the meter. In cases of leaky roofs, tarps can be put over the leak to stop any additional water from entering the home.

“Some may need to contact a contractor to stop the water,” says Olsen. “For instance, if there is a roof leak, then a contractor may need to take a look at the roof and find the leak and then fix it before the water damage restoration can begin. The water source has to be stopped to avoid any additional damage and then we can get to work restoring that area to its former glory.”

Olsen says that the company’s goal is to help those with water damage to overcome these issues and get their home back to its former state. Water damage can substantially lower the overall value of a home, so particularly for those who are considering selling in the near future; water damage should be repaired as quickly as possible.

Olsen adds that the health and safety of every family is the company’s main concern. He states that they will ensure that all of the damaged area is cleaned up and restored to ensure that mold growth is stopped. Mold can cause a number of health issues, particularly in those who are already suffering from certain breathing problems, as well as young children and smaller pets. Olsen states that getting the water cleaned up and the area sanitized is crucial in stopping the growth of mold that can cause these health issues.
