“EdTech is a versatile and growing industry, so almost all of your previous experiences will find a place here”, says Aggor.
Aggor says that you don’t need classroom teaching experience to succeed in the EdTech sector.
Openness to learning as well as a passion for helping people is critical. These driving philosophies are at the core of EdTech.
“EdTech is an attempt to provide education in a way that suits the user by pairing technology with traditional educational methods,” says Aggor.
“Ultimately, you are helping children discover a passion for learning and that would go a long way into shaping their futures.”
It is also important to be a good listener to better understand students and instructors to provide them with the support they need to succeed.
According to Aggor, “Listening more and talking less has helped me in this field and I would advise anyone else to do the same.”
The EdTech industry provides a platform for a uniquely diverse environment, therefore an understanding of diversity as well as intercultural competence are beneficial skills for those seeking to get involved.
Aggor says, “You should understand your audience as students come from all races and all socio-economic backgrounds.”
Aggor believes that EdTech has the ability to bridge the gap between students of different backgrounds, providing them with more equal opportunities and learning experiences.
“I believe that EdTech makes it possible to give everybody access to a great education.”
His final tip?
“Be naturally curious, ask questions, uncover needs, and help people solve problems.”
