UH receives $15M grant from NASA for Maui telescopes

Pan-STARRS on Haleakala consists of the Pan-STARRS1 and Pan-STARRS2 telescopes, which have 1.4- and 1.5-gigapixel cameras — currently the two largest astronomical cameras in the world, according to UH.
