IAI Showcased The Latest Air Defense Systems at Aero India

IAI Signed MoUs as It Furthered Its Commitments to the Indian Defense Sector

Israel - May 19, 2023

IAI, Israel’s leading aerospace and defense company, showcased its advanced technologies, industry-leading air defense systems, and ground combat solutions at Aero India 2023, India's largest defense exhibition, which took place from February 13 to 17. IAI had led a strategic transformation to provide fast direct access to its superior solutions in full support of India's Atmanirbhar Bharat vision of a self-reliant country. During the exhibition, IAI signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and joint venture agreements, deepening its ties with the local defense sector.

For the past 30 years, IAI had built close partnerships in India, developing and providing various strategic platforms to the country, including missile and air defense systems, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), satellites, radars, training platforms, and others. IAI's state-of-the-art systems and technologies had been in operational use in India's three military arms and other government agencies. Additionally, IAI had worked closely with the Indian Armed Forces to develop and produce advanced technologies in the air, land, and naval arenas.

Boaz Levy, IAI President, and CEO, had expressed excitement about being back in India for Aero India, which brought together some of their leading partners in the defense sector. They had been working closely with the Indian defense industry for more than 30 years and were looking forward to further collaboration following the exhibition. The IAI team had eagerly anticipated meeting friends and partners while exhibiting their cutting-edge technologies to the Indian, Asian, and global markets during this distinguished exhibition.

During the show, IAI showcased a wide array of aerial systems, including its Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) strategic Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Heron TP. IAI's advanced tactical loitering munition was designed for both ground and naval units, namely the Mini Harpy and the Rotem. In addition, IAI exhibited an advanced GEO Mini Communication Satellite, whose development was based on IAI's long heritage, and the Dror 1, Israel's National Communication Satellite-MCS. IAI's Rampage, a supersonic, long-range accurate air-ground assault rocket for the annihilation of high-quality targets, was also on display. The Scorpius G (ground) was a ground-based EW system designed to detect and disrupt ground- and airborne threats. IAI also showcased an Aerial Refueling Tanker for the supply of aerial refueling and strategic transport aircraft. The HAROP was displayed in Adanis' booth, while the LORA and MRSAM were on display in the BEL booth.
