Title: VIDEO: Charter & Multicultural Leadership Organizations Sign MOU

Last Friday, Charter CEO Tom Rutledge joined leaders of some of America’s leading multicultural organizations in announcing an important Memorandum of Understanding that outlines our plan of action for New Charter to implement strong diversity and inclusion practices.

Joining Tom at the event were Rev. Al Sharpton, president and CEO of the National Action Network; Marc Morial, president and CEO of the National Urban League; Roger C. Rocha, Jr., national president of the League of United Latin American Citizens; and Mee Moua, president and executive director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice.

This MOU is an important step to ensure we continue to be active participants in fostering diversity and inclusion-not just within or company, but also in the communities we serve. We look forward to a long and productive relationship with these organizations and working with them to create opportunities and provide access to affordable broadband for everyone served by Charter.

Tom Rutledge, President & CEO of Charter Communications, Inc.: It’s a pleasure on this holiday to think about Doctor King and the fact that we’re doing something that’s consistent with his vision. And I think this MOU is a reflection of our desire to use our position in society to do the things that we all believe in, which is to create a diverse workforce that represents us, the people at work, and us, the people that we serve. And so thank you for doing this with us and we look forward to working with you and building a New Charter and building a better country.”
