August 3, 2007

TELUS renewing Shelf Prospectus

 

Vancouver, B.C. – TELUS Corporation intends to file today a preliminary short form base shelf prospectus with securities regulators in Canada and the United States. When final, this will enable TELUS to sell up to Cdn$3 billion of debt, equity and/or warrants should the Company decide to issue such securities at any time during the next two years. The shelf prospectus to be filed today will replace an existing Cdn$3 billion shelf prospectus that expires on September 24, 2007. TELUS has no immediate intention to offer securities pursuant to the shelf prospectus.

 

The preliminary shelf prospectus and shelf-registration statement to be filed today have not yet become effective. No securities may be sold nor may offers to buy be accepted prior to the time a receipt for the final prospectus or other authorization is obtained from the securities regulatory authorities in Canada and, for the filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the registration statement becomes effective. This news release shall not constitute an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy, nor shall there be any sale of these securities in any jurisdiction in which such an offer, solicitation or sale would be unlawful prior to registration or qualification under the securities laws of any such jurisdiction.
