New Podcast Series “Equal Too” Fosters Game-Changing Conversations About Achieving Disability Equality

By: 3BL Media

DESCRIPTION:

P&G announced the launch of a new podcast series focusing on topics important to the disabled community. Entitled “Equal Too: Achieving Disability Equality,” the six-part podcast series is produced by P&G Studios in partnership with Harder Than You Think, the team behind the award-winning Netflix documentary Rising Phoenix. The series focuses on the biggest challenges faced by the disabled community and starts a conversation about what is needed drive equality. The podcast will challenge perceptions, celebrate successes, and explore how to transform the world for those who have a disability.

“Equal Too” will run through August and September and features policymakers, activists, athletes, and allies from around the globe including actors Jameela Jamil and RJ Mitte, Paralympian Tatyana McFadden, and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) president Andrew Parsons. P&G believes that greater visibility is a key step to changing perceptions on the journey to disability equality, and we are excited to help elevate these conversations. Meaningful conversations about inclusion can only occur when equal voices are represented, which is reflected in the people working on this podcast. The team creating “Equal Too”– from producers to guests and contributors – includes more than 60% of people who identify as disabled.

The series will explore thought-provoking topics, like:

  • The legacy of the Paralympic Movement and the lasting impact the Paralympic Games has had on host cities and beyond
  • How legislation for disabled people is changing and what more needs to be done
  • The path of employment for disabled people 70 years after Sir Ludwig Guttmann began using sport to create space for disabled people in society

P&G is also announcing a $100,000 donation to the Agitos Foundation, which funds programs that align with the IPC’s vision ‘to make for an inclusive world through sport.’ Through this donation, P&G will help fuel the work to increase awareness and accelerate disability inclusion for the next generation.

The “Equal Too” podcast series is the latest project from P&G Studios, the part of the Company that develops and produces stories to help create positive change in society, often shining the light on under-represented voices and acts of good. Downloadable transcripts of each episode will be released shortly after airing. Additionally, episodes will be accompanied with captioned videos featuring a deaf British Sign Language signer.
