BYD Showcases Electric Prowess at Japan Mobility Show 2023: A First for Chinese Automakers

At the event, the BYD SEAL, a pure electric sporty sedan, caught the spotlight. Set for its Japanese launch in Spring 2024, it was a focal point of the show. Adding to the excitement, YANGWANG, BYD's premium electric sub-brand, showcased its inaugural model, the YANGWANG U8, as its very first display outside of the Chinese market. The innovative model flaunted a tank turn at the event, enchanting audiences with its pioneering technologies, superior craftsmanship, and futuristic design. Meanwhile, DENZA, another subsidiary of BYD, showcased its high-end luxury MPV, the DENZA D9, which drew considerable interest.

Adding star power to the event, Japanese motorsport legends Keiichi Tsuchiya, known as the real-life inspiration behind the iconic 'Initial D' character Takumi Fujiwara, the "Drift King" and the 24 Hours of Le Mans runner-up, made an appearance, thrilling motorsport enthusiasts in attendance.

On July 21, 2022, BYD entered the Japanese passenger vehicle market and commenced its rapid local development since then. To date, BYD operates 15 showrooms across major cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka. The company plans to open 100 showrooms by the end of 2025, anticipating Japan's surging demand for new energy vehicles.
