Earflo Named Best of Innovation in Digital Health for CES® 2026

Prestigious Recognition Comes on the Heels of Recent TIME Best Inventions Of 2025 Win

Earflo, a medical technology company developing a non-invasive, at-home treatment for negative middle ear pressure in children as young as two, today announced it has been named a CES Innovation Awards® Best of Innovation in Digital Health. Earflo demonstrated exceptional innovation in design and engineering, earning the highest evaluation scores within the Digital Health category from an elite panel of industry expert judges.

Earflo is designed to relieve negative middle ear pressure, a key factor in the development of otitis media with effusion (OME) and chronic ear infections. When negative pressure builds in the middle ear, it can cause fluid accumulation, impair hearing, and create an environment prone to infection. This condition can often lead to ear tube surgery, the most common pediatric surgery, performed on more than half a million children per year in the US alone. Earflo aims to revolutionize pediatric ear care by giving families a safe, effective, non-surgical way to treat negative middle ear pressure at home.

Unlike existing non-invasive devices for treating negative middle ear pressure that require complex coordination from parents and children, Earflo streamlines the entire process, making it both practical and comfortable even for children as young as two who experience the greatest developmental harm from hearing loss.

“This award underscores Earflo’s commitment to combining technology with compassionate care, and we are truly thankful for the recognition,” said Dr. Intan Oldakowska, CEO of Earflo. “It’s a testament to our mission to redefine how this common condition can be treated in young children.”

Designed around the real-world needs of children and families, Earflo disguises therapy as everyday drinking through its sippy-cup form factor and game-based companion app, transforming treatment into play. Its durable, quiet, and portable design fits seamlessly into home life, helping children stay consistent with therapy—an approach demonstrated in clinical trials to improve hearing and prevent surgery in over 86% of cases. Developed through the Stanford Biodesign program and protected by two patent families, Earflo combines medical-grade performance with consumer-level accessibility.

This honor from CES comes shortly after Earflo was recognized as one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2025 in the Medical & Healthcare category for its innovation in treatment and patient care.

“With our recent TIME win and now this honor from CES, Earflo continues to demonstrate exceptional innovation in design and engineering, earning the highest distinction in digital health,” said Dr. Peter Santa Maria, Chief Medical Officer of Earflo. “Earflo’s potential to reduce the need for costly surgery, bridge healthcare gaps, and deliver life-changing results for millions of children worldwide, continues to stand out as a transformative advancement in pediatric digital health.”

Earflo will exhibit its revolutionary device at CES in Las Vegas, January 6–9, 2026.

About Earflo

Earflo is pioneering a non-invasive, at-home treatment for negative middle ear pressure in children as young as two—a condition that can lead to fluid buildup (otitis media with effusion) and chronic ear infections. Created by biomedical engineers and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) physicians, Earflo is developed as a sophisticated medical device designed to look like a child’s sippy cup, featuring a gamified companion app to motivate children through positive reinforcement. Clinical study results show that Earflo can resolve middle ear fluid and improve hearing in 86% of patients within four weeks, and 90% of children in the study avoided ear tube surgery at the end of the study. Earflo aims to improve children’s health with scientifically-proven solutions to common ear health issues.

Earflo is FDA 510(k) pending and currently not for sale.
