Source Group International Launches Source Talks

UK based Source Group International (SGI) has launched a new podcast series, Source Talks, that aims to explore the world of technology teams and discuss the unique challenges they face. Many who are involved with the industry may also be pleased to learn that the podcast features The Tech Lab - https://www.sourcegroupinternational.com/news/source-talks-the-tech-lab-podcast-episode-one/.

As companies across industries continue to innovate and expand, SGI points out that the role of engineering teams has become increasingly critical. However, building and maintaining a strong engineering team is no easy feat. From identifying top talent to fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, engineering team leaders face a range of complex challenges. Every episode of Source Talks: The Tech Lab aims to provide both valuable insights and advice on these topics.

The podcast's host is Gus Firth, an experienced Recruitment Consultant who brings more than four years of experience in the industry to the show, delivering talent to engineering teams across Germany. With his careful probing, those who arrive to share their insights with the podcast’s listeners will discuss the most pressing issues facing engineering teams today (where hiring is concerned). Drawing on their own experiences and those of experts in the field, Gus and their guests aim to offer a range of insights and actionable advice for engineering teams who are struggling to hire top talent.

"Finding the right people for your engineering team is one of the biggest challenges facing companies today," says Gus. "We created Source Talks: The Tech Lab to provide a platform where industry experts and leaders can share their experiences, challenges and best practices when it comes to building and maintaining a strong engineering team.”

If the podcast’s first episode is anything to judge by, Source Talks: The Tech Lab stands to offer a wealth of information to casual and serious listeners alike. Its first guest was the CTO at TIER Mobility (and former CTO at HelloFresh), Nuno Simaria, who took part in a spirited discussion on scaling and hiring in the industry. The episode repeatedly refers to his experience building high-performing teams and working to retain top engineering talent in an increasingly competitive environment, and listeners who start the podcast today will find that he readily shared a look at his experiences working in both the startup space and large enterprises.

Naturally, the podcast is willing to acknowledge and explore the personal aspect of the industry professionals who contribute their time. Nuno, for instance, shared how he first came to be enthralled by software, and this also led to him offering advice to junior software engineers who wish to create the foundation for a similarly illustrious career.

Each new episode of Source Talks: The Tech Lab will delve into various topics related to engineering team hiring, including the impact of remote work, diversity and inclusion in the hiring process, organisational structures and how to attract top talent in a highly competitive job market. The podcast’s guests will include experts in the field who are more than eager to share their own experiences and insights, many of which are likely to have a familiar echo to listeners.

SGI is pleased to confirm that Source Talks: The Tech Lab is available on Youtube and all major podcast platforms, including Amazon Podcasts, Spotify and Google Podcasts.
