Alaska Communications Systems Group, Inc. (“ACS”) (NASDAQ: ALSK) today announced further expansion of its CDMA mobile wireless voice and data network and the Grand Opening of its new retail outlet in Haines on Thursday, June 28th, within Alaska Power & Telephone’s (“AP&T”) Haines office at 205 Main Street.
“The expansion of our network, along with the grand opening of our retail outlet, could not come at a better time for businesses throughout Haines that are supported by the busy summer tourist season,” said Bill Bishop, director of retail services at ACS. “We are excited to bring enhanced service to the area, which will provide coverage of the city and the surrounding waterways. In addition, ACS customers who travel to Whitehorse will also enjoy roaming coverage that is currently unavailable with other wireless providers.”
The Grand Opening runs from Thursday, June 28th through Tuesday, July 3rd. Store hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. To celebrate the store’s opening, a selection of free phones will be available for new customers on ACS’ enhanced CDMA wireless network. Visitors may also enter a drawing to win a free Motorola KRZR.
