As demand grows for rich 4G mobile experiences, Syniverse announced its significant role enabling The Alaska Wireless Network to recently launch LTE roaming and interworking with a major Tier 1 North America operator, marking another step in Syniverse’s LTE leadership. To make this possible, The Alaska Wireless Network signed a multiyear agreement for Syniverse’s award-winning LTE solutions, including Diameter Signaling Service, IPX Network Solution and Reach Management.
Enabling ubiquitous LTE roaming is a complex challenge that requires thorough testing and issue resolution to ensure seamless roaming processes. A crucial part of this involves the deployment of an IPX network and the enablement of diameter signaling protocol, including managing the proper routing and delivery of diameter signaling messages to ensure seamless connectivity between different operators. In addition, Syniverse’s Reach Management solution plays an important role to enable roaming agreement management, IREG and TADIG testing, and SIM management.
"As LTE becomes the new standard, mobile users will increasingly expect access to the same high-speed experiences all the time, wherever they are,” said Krag Johnsen, Vice President, Revenue, Alaska Wireless Network. “Our work with Syniverse is an important step in ensuring we deliver a superior mobile experience on our network and while roaming.”
Syniverse’s Diameter Signaling Service and IPX Network are core components of the company’s LTE solution portfolio, offering carrier-grade, five-nines connectivity that fully enables the quality and class of service required for LTE. This portfolio was recently recognized with the 2014 Telecoms.com LTE Award for Best LTE Roaming/IPX Product. Syniverse’s Diameter Signaling Service provides a comprehensive solution for managing the complexities of the Diameter signaling protocol by simplifying the process for an operator to add bandwidth to an IPX connection in preparation for periods of increased usage.
“We are honored to be selected by The Alaska Wireless Network to support its transition to LTE roaming and to expand on a long and successful relationship,” said John Wick, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mobile Transaction Services. “Syniverse has been the first to offer a single-solution LTE testing environment to ensure that mobile service providers can integrate the testing of all of their services through one connection, and we look forward to using this expertise to help The Alaska Wireless Network deliver the highest level of LTE service possible to its customers.”
The agreement underscores Syniverse’s recent accomplishments and position as an LTE leader. Syniverse’s LTE solutions reach over 35 countries on six continents and touch nearly half of the world’s mobile roaming traffic. Syniverse recently enabled the successful launch of international LTE roaming between two Tier 1 operators in the United States and Canada, the first of its kind to deliver cross-border LTE roaming capabilities in North America. Moreover, over the past three years, Syniverse has led the deployment of LTE roaming by helping providers conduct a series of end-to-end LTE roaming and interconnect trials around the globe.
Syniverse is the leading global transaction processor that connects more than 1,500 mobile service providers, enterprises, ISPs and OTTs in nearly 200 countries and territories, enabling seamless mobile communications across disparate and rapidly evolving networks, devices and applications. We deliver innovative cloud-based solutions that facilitate superior end-user experiences through always-on services and real-time engagement.
