KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. - Nov. 9, 2018 - PRLog -- Sila, a leading Northeast heating, air conditioning and plumbing contractor is proud and honored to attend this year's annual Abramson Cancer Center - Philly Fights Cancer: Round 4 event to be held Saturday, November 10 at the Iconic Navy Yard in Philadelphia, PA.
Funds raised at this annual gala event support the clinical trials and translational research at the Abramson Cancer Center. Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center is a world leader in cancer research, patient care, and education. Its mission is to provide state-of-the–art care to those suffering from cancer.
The event, noted as THE Philadelphia social event of the year attracts doctors, donors, cancer survivors, business executives and philanthropists who come together once a year to celebrate the work of the Abramson Cancer Center. Last year they raised $7 million and to date they have raised over $16 million.
Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center researcher Dr. Carl June, named to the 2018 TIME Magazine – 100 Most Influential People in the World list will be this year's featured physician. He is known for his research in CAR-T cell therapy, a leading immunotherapy life-saving treatment for pediatric leukemia.
Highlighting the entertainment will be Jerry Seinfeld, national comic icon, and the internationally known music group Maroon 5.
Sila has been a community supporter of events benefiting the research and treatment of cancer for over 30 years. Annual contributors to events such as the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, Steps to Cure Sarcoma, Alex's Lemon Run, the Lemon Ball and more have helped these organizations raise millions to help cancer research and patient care.
