She added that often a lawyer is seen as an extension of the client, and doing their bidding. So the more aggressive and combative the attorney gets, the more the other side will retreat to their corner and refuse to meet on middle ground.
The net effects of all this aggression could result in higher legal bills with more court appearances, depositions, and lots more paperwork. There is also the disappointment and damage that is wreaked on the lives of the children, as they suddenly become ‘pawns’ in their parents and lawyers’ drama.
