SIUE Day of Giving Donations Will Fund Future Scholarship Opportunities

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - April 21, 2022 - PRLog -- On April 21, 2022, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's School of Education, Health, and Human Behavior (SIUE SEHHB) will celebrate its Day of Giving, a 24-hour fundraising campaign for the school's development. Donations to SIUE-SEHHB will fund student scholarships and financial support for clients at the Speech-Language-Hearing Center.

The Dean's Scholarship Program ensures that SIUE-SEHHB remains affordable and accessible for deserving students who truly want to make a difference in the lives of the youth and community members. Additionally, the Speech-Language-Hearing Center evaluates and treats communication disorders in infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, adolescents and adults. Donations to the Center will help provide scholarships for clients and expand the scope of services offered to patients.

Dr. Lori Patton Davis, department chair of Educational Studies at The Ohio State University, will be serving as the chair of SIUE-SEHHB Day of Giving. Davis is recognized as one of the most influential scholars in higher education.

"I am happy to know that Dr. Patton Davis will be serving as our chair," says Dr. Robin Hughes, Dean of SIUE's School of Education, Health and Human Behavior. "She is the scholar, activist, leader that we all strive to be. It only seems natural, given her thoughtful work over the decades, that she would be here to support this important day of giving."

In addition to student and client scholarships, donations for the Day of Giving will support other elements of SIEU-SEHHB, including the Attention and Behavior Clinic, East St. Louis Charter High School, the

Speech-Language-Hearing Center and the DREAM Collective - Dismantling Racism through Education, Advocacy and Mobilization.
