The Love Camp, A Unique Coaching Curriculum Exploring the Black Male-Female Love Journey, Launches First USA Retreat; Adds New U.S., International Destinations

Frederick, MD - January 18, 2023 - The Love Camp, a unique program combining cultural pride, the love of travel, and a customized curriculum focused on exploring and addressing the realities of unhealthy male and female love relationships in the Black community, is launching a series of USA and international retreats, starting in March 2023.

According to Renee Miller, CEO of Remember You Are, LLC., and founder of The Love Camp, her concern over the unhealthy direction in which Black love relationships have been heading over the past 15 or so years, led her to conceive of The Love Camp.  Her goal is to attract Black professionals between the ages of 30 and 60, who love to travel, learn, and want to build healthy relationships.

“With the changing times, unresolved issues, lack of trust and support, Black male and female love relationships are in trouble and as a certified love coach, I want to be part of the solution and help people confront and address that reality,” says Miller. “African American men and women are in need of healthy ways to see each other again and heal from past traumas, so that we can love ourselves and each other better, which will lead to healthier individuals, families, and communities,” said Miller.

The start of the Love Camp was a collaboration between two black and women-owned businesses, Miller and Kim Poole, co-founder of the Teaching Artist Institute and TAI Tours, LLC. The unique retreats are intentionally designed to accommodate a small group of about 10 to 20 people.   According to Miller, ensures. encourages and accommodates an environment of trust, openness, and vulnerability, required for effective conversations and personal breakthroughs.

“We are extremely pleased with the success and response from our first Love Camp held in Tanzania, Africa in October 2022, which received rave reviews from participants and was intentionally designed to accommodate a small group of about 10 people,” says Miller. “This allowed us to focus on and provide solutions to seven essential topics, including vulnerability, communication, respect, safety, trust, honesty, and attraction,” she continued. “As a result, we are looking forward to sharing this experience and sharing what we’ve learned with participants of The Love Camp retreats at our various destinations in 2023. Starting with 20 people at a time, may not seem like much, but on a macro level, I hope to be able to touch thousands if not millions of lives, through sharing best love practices so individuals, relationships, and communities can be healthier. Likewise, on a micro level, I hope to dismantle some of the stereotypes and redefine what healthy love looks like for black men and women,” Miller said.

The cost-efficient Love Camp Tanzania included round trip travel from Washington, D.C., and 10 days in Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania and Dar Es Salaam, filled with intimate conversations about the participant’s individual love journeys through a customized curriculum, intermingled with days and nights filled with fun, African yoga and cultural exploration highlighting local restaurants, boutique hotels, sight-seeing, etc.

The first Love Camp USA in 2023, will be held at the Massanutten Resort in VA from March 18 to March 22, and will include activities such as indoor water park and spa services.

Additional destinations for The Love Camp in 2023 include Savannah, GA, June 22-25; Houston, TX; August 19-21; a couples-only retreat in Toronto, Canada, September 1-4; Tanzania, Africa, October 3-13 and Thailand/Bali, December 10-22.

Prices for the U.S. Love Camp retreats begin around $1,200 and the international retreats begin at $5,200 and includes accommodations, meals, activities and the Love Camp curriculum. Interested participants also have an opportunity to become certified love coaches for an additional cost.
