ACS Appoints New Vice President, Business Sales and Service

Alaska Communications Systems Group, Inc. ("ACS") (NASDAQ: ALSK) has appointed Donn Wilmott as Vice President, Business Sales and Service.

In this newly created position, Wilmott will lead the Company's business sales, market intelligence and product innovation teams, helping to extend ACS' reach as Alaska's premier telecommunications provider to Enterprise and other customers.

"Donn comes to ACS with an impressive track record as a top earnings producer in the telecommunications industry. He has consistently overachieved in generating top and bottom line results. I'm confident that Donn will successfully execute on ACS' growth opportunities in the burgeoning Enterprise market and help the Company surpass its business sales objectives," said Sheldon Fisher, ACS Senior Vice President, Sales and Service.

Wilmott has spent the past 25 years in the telecommunications industry, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of Time Warner Telecom in San Diego, Calif.

"Joining ACS during such a period of dynamic growth for the Company is thrilling. It challenges my entrepreneurial spirit and my passion for creating opportunities to add financial and strategic value. I'm excited to bring ACS' new investments in undersea fiber optics and its entire suite of wireless solutions to Enterprise customers," said Wilmott.

Wilmott's appointment took effect on Monday, Sept. 8.
