ACS Announces New Director of Corporate Communications

Alaska Communications Systems Group, Inc. (“ACS”) (NASDAQ:ALSK), Alaska's leading integrated communications provider, today announced the appointment of Heather Cavanaugh as Director of Corporate Communications. In this role, Cavanaugh will act as the company's media spokesperson, with responsibility for public relations and internal communications.

Cavanaugh brings more than eight years of public relations and communications experience to ACS. Prior to joining ACS, Cavanaugh worked as communications director for the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation where she oversaw the organization’s local and national public relations and marketing initiatives. Before that, she worked as an account executive for the Anchorage-based public relations firm Bernholz & Graham and as a senior publicist at HarperCollins Publishers in New York City where she developed public relations campaigns for New York Times bestselling books. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism from Western Washington University in Bellingham, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a certificate of completion from the University of Denver Publishing Institute.
